Driving the brand’s digital experiences forward with DAM

Providing personally bespoke customer experiences was something Golfbreaks was looking to improve in the digital space. To achieve that, the brand needed a solution that could serve up the right content, to the right audience, at the right time, whatever the channel. 

For us, personalization is all about understanding and relevance. It’s that 1 to 1 personalization with customers which we do so well over the phone that we were looking to replicate through our digital channels.

Golfbreaks also had no clearly defined method for storing and managing its content, which was becoming a real drainer on time, resources, and creativity – particularly after opening new offices in Denmark and the US.

Files were stored all over the company from shared folders, hard drives, third-party platforms, or people's local drives. We ended up with folders all over the place because there was no governance. And the problem with a folder-based solution is you end up with ever-increasing folders.

As with any company in the travel industry, marketing at Golfbreaks is highly visual, dependent on high-quality, high-volume imagery sourced from a multitude of suppliers. Before Bynder, it was becoming difficult to keep track of who sent what, how imagery could be used, and whether it was under embargo.

The products we sell are obviously very visual – we've got some beautiful venues and golf courses that we can use to promote our services. But because we work with thousands of different suppliers around the world, it was really hard to keep everything up to date.

Everything centralized

The most obvious benefit for the Golfbreaks team was having one central location for digital assets, supplemented with metadata that allows everyone to be much more self-sufficient during the content lifecycle.

We now have a single source of truth containing guidelines and all our branded assets. The design team is thankful that no one will ever ask them: ‘Can you send over that Golfbreaks logo again?’ We can now control asset expiry permissions, copyrighting, and any approved or unapproved assets from a single place.

Quicker content distribution

As Bynder is cloud-based and accessible from anywhere – on web or mobile – getting marketing assets from A-B is a lot more straightforward, equipping Golfbreaks’ teams with the assets they need to promote its experiences effectively.

We can be much more reactive and timely with our content. For instance, we can have a photographer on location which might be at an event or a tournament and they can use the Bynder portal to instantly upload photography which can then be used by our email or social media team within an hour.

90% faster content production

With a tailored content taxonomy that makes finding the right file a breeze, Golfbreaks are able to get more value and reuse from its rich content library. By using Bynder’s Dynamic Asset Transformation (DAT) add-on, the company’s designers are also spending significantly less time on basic tasks such as resizing and editing imagery. Instead, DAT ensures images are automatically optimized for the right channel, while boosting load times and SEO performance.

Finding the right selection of images could take a whole afternoon before, whereas Bynder allows us to do the same task in less than an hour, and the quality is much improved because all assets are surfaced and all assets are easily seen when searching.

Seamlessly integrated

Golfbreaks needed its DAM solution to be highly connectable with other marketing tools and platforms, which is increasingly important for any modern marketing operation. The integration with its CMS, Contentstack, was a big plus.

Bynder’s integrations are really important to us. We now make that a key requirement of any potential tech vendor that they have a Bynder integration. We’re using it at the moment with our Contentstack headless CMS and the Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
